If you are thinking of buying a used Ford Bronco, you have to take note that the car was in production for thirty years, from 1966 – 1996. The body type is a two-door SUV and it was succeeded by the Ford Expedition. The original Bronco was an off-road vehicle which competed with the smaller SUVs during its time.
The smaller 92 inch wheelbase made it popular for going off-road and made it easier to handle. It was redesigned twelve years later in 1978 and resembled the Ford-100 pickup. The major redesign was in the 1980 model where the body was cut shorter and it got new features such as an upgraded suspension and power train. In the late 1980’s, the body as well as the drive train were changed.
The later models were designed with safety in mind. These had rear seatbelts and a driver-side airbag. The front area incorporated crumple zones and there was an added rear break light in the removable top of the vehicle.
