In 2004, BMW began the manufacturing of the first model from the BMW 1-Series. Used BMW 1-Series from the original generation are still being sold worldwide due to their compact design and affordability when compared to present models.
The original series was available as a 3 or 5-door hatchback family car. They are slightly smaller in size when put side by side with other models. Later on, in 2007, the car manufacturer expanded the lineup by adding a coupe and a convertible version. In the same year, the series received a face lift which is still used today for the newer generations.
The models in the series were available with either gas or diesel engines with a wide range of engine capacity to choose from depending on the version. It was designed to be a replacement for the BMW 3 as the cheapest car available made by the German manufacturer. Today, only the coupe and the convertible versions are still in production while the 3-door and 5-door hatchback versions are available only at dealers that sell used BMW 1-Series cars.
